Compiling SGeMS on Ubuntu

I have been trying to compile SGeMS on Ubuntu 9.0.4. by following the
instructions on 'compiling on Linux' - http://sgems.sourceforge.net/?
q=node/40 - with no success.

I couldn't find the Coin (lib4coin40-dev and lib4coin40c2) and SoQt
(libSoQt40-dev, libsoqt40-20 and libsoqt-dev-common) files in my
synaptic package manager.

PLEASE can you elaborate on how to compile on Linux?
