A free file archiver for extremely high compression

please put the same switches in 7z.exe for win into linux p7zip or just call it 7z. it so lacks functionality. it would be nice, for instance, to specify number of threads, compression parameters, do split volumes (!) for backups, sfx, exclude files, and the other nice things you can do with the commandline windows version.
it would also be nice to have a switch to use it as normal p7zip.
please also make the 7-zip GUI for linux, with .rpm installer or whatever works best. it should also be available for gentoo linux. gentoo uses its own special installer program.
I was hoping for inclusion of something other than just the current p7zip into System Rescue CD livecd.
thank you.
I have just discovered through the p7zip page that most except the commandline functionality I wanted is available thrrough 7za - could that please be renamed to 7z for consistency for both DOS and *nix and mac? thanks.
