I am a new cpp dev (I struggle to give myself the name) attempting to build a small application. I have never installed an API before, but when I attempt to use the "build" file in visual studio it gives me the following errors:

Build.mak: End tag 'xs:choice' does not match the start tag 'xs:sequence'.
    Build.mak: Project upgrade failed.

I understand that it may not work with visual studio, but I wanted to be sure as the FAQ was a little unclear. Can anyone confirm that it does not work or provide a fix?

    Build.mak is not main file.
You can compile "makefile" from command line with "nmake" command.
or open any dsp in GUI.
