    At this rate, never. Igor doesn't seem to care or appreciate the importance of a build marked as non-beta/alpha as far as people's confidence is concerned.

    I think this project is dead. Given security concerns, I can't use it any longer. Oh well. Would be nice if someone picked up the code and brought it into 2013.

    I dont worry much, if 7z will be abandoned then someone else takes over and improves features. Currently most Linux distros even have 7z support and it works well too with compressing and especially encrypting archives.

    Although I really like 7-Zip and have used it for years, it would be nice to have a "release" version that is supported for production use.
