    I'm wondering why 7zip still uses one field for password encriptation in the GUI.
    I think that every input password option should be typed twice to avoid human typing mistakes.

    Yes, I wrote this because this had happened to me a few minutes ago, and now I have to brute force my zip file. >:(

    Regards.

    Where?

    Show Password = One Line - SHOWN
    Show Password = Two Line - OBSCURED

    @dos386
    You want like this?(mockup):

    $ 7z a arc file -p
    7-Zip 9.20  Copyright (c) 1999-2010 Igor Pavlov  2010-11-18
    Scanning
    Creating archive arc.7z
    Enter password (will not be echoed):    <- after entry this prompt
    Repeat password (will not be echoed):   <- replaced with this prompt
    Everything is Ok
    $

    > You want like this?

    YES. Accept, if both PWD's are identical, or the lower one is empty, reject, if both non-empty and different, or the upper one is empty.

    No need to "replace", just drop the 2 lines below each other.

  • do386, great idea!
