I'm using ubuntu Feisty, which has a (debian) package install for ser2net 2.3-1. I use ser2net to connect with an embedded linux project running u-boot. It's strictly a 3-wire connection with no handshaking. I can connect over a telnet session, but it usually disconnects after I enter 1 or maybe 2 commands. Sometimes it will hang (well, look like a hang) instead. The same config file and hardware worked fine on a previous ubuntu version, but I don't know what version of ser2net that was.
The line from the config file is:
2006:raw:999999:/dev/ttyS1:115200 -XONXOFF -RTSCTS -LOCAL 8DATABITS NONE 1STOPBIT banner
Anybody have any ideas?
Try a timeout of zero to see if that makes a difference.
I set the timeout to zero and tried again, but no joy. Any other ideas?
Update: I changed "raw" to "telnet", and now it seems to be working.
