hai, new doubt, in mediawiki 1.21, i want to append some text in wikitag format at prefix and postfix of the original content(page_content), on which file and where i want to make change regarding this. Please guide me. From: "[[kgh]]" <med...@kg...> To: Rajesh S6 <raj...@tc...> Cc: sem...@li... Date: 07/11/2014 06:32 PM Subject: Re: [Semediawiki-user] How to upgrade smw mediawiki 1.12 to mediawiki 1.21 Heiya, I am not sure if you did a step-by-step upgrade here, probably not. The script currently ties to delete tables which are not there and consequently fails. Try to create these missing tables by running the setup script [5] with the Store3 option and see how it goes from there. I do not know how this plays the the relation namespace though. I assume that you found these pages by now. An alternative is to have a look at the INSTALL, README and RELEASE-NOTES files provided together with the specific version of the SMW software. Always make sure that you use a compatible combination of MW, SMW, PHP and PostgreSQL. So upgrading directly from MW 1.12 to 1.21 is probably already going to far. Same for PostgreSQL upgrades. However compatibility only has been recorded for SMW 1.7.0 onwards [4]. Doing upgrades step by step (version to version) will probably be a way out here. My SMW career started with SMW 1.5.0 so I really do not know how SMW was organised in it's earlier stages. Perhaps there is someone else on the list who remembers how she or he made the upgrades five to six years ago. What information is the mailing list of that time providing? So the download link for 1.4.3 is available here: [2] The fact that you are using PostgresQL suggest that you are already using SMW 1.4.x since this branch was afaik the first one to provide highly experimental support for this backend. Date: 07/09/2014 02:19 PM Subject: Re: [Semediawiki-user] How to upgrade smw mediawiki 1.12 to mediawiki 1.21 Heiya, since you still seem to be relying on the "relation" namespace the best upgrade of SMW you may do is to SMW 1.4.3 since this is the last version supporting it. See here [1] for how to upgrade. I am however not sure if this version of SMW plays well with MW 1.21, if at all. You should adapt your SMW not to rely on the "relation" namespace. i.e. get rid of it. Also you are probably still making use of things like "=:" for setting property values and ask tags for querying, too. It is very advisable to change this to the new syntax. While you are at it. Get rid of content in the "type" namespace since this one is gone in newer versions, too. When you are ready you can upgrade to a even newer version of SMW by following the instructions provided on wiki.
