You can use the make utility from any compiler you like. A makefile is like
a fancy batch file, it simply contains several commands. So you can insert
SDCC invokations as well. Makefiles can be quite complex, however, as a
beginner you'd better start with a simple makefile and go from there.
Unfortunately, most people develop over the years their own flavor of
makefiles and end up with really huge makefiles. I am one of them so I
could not give you a simple example makefile. However, the GNU make utility
comes with a very good tutorial. As long as you stay away from the more
exotic GNU features, it will also work with your avrgcc, djgpp or whatever
