I am trying to used the SDCC compiler with the 8051F124 from SiLab =
I have successfully got the Blinky LED to run and have been able to do =
other small routines however whenever my memory usage is more than 256 =
the program crashes and I get Linker error of:
?ASlink-Error-Could not get 106 consecutive bytes in internal RAM for =
Tried to compile using large memory which fixed the linker issue however =
program seems not to be using correct memory locations for SFR's.
Any idea or any help would be greatly appreciated.
I inquired about the combination of SDCC with the Maxim/Dallas 89C4x0 =
processors last spring, and got a number of conflicting answers, some of =
which gave me pause.
On the 8052.com site, specifically, in thread =
http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=3D92467 I got some information =
indicating that there are a number of ultra-serious bugs in SDCC that =
ruled out doing serious work with SDCC when using these MCU's. =20
Has anyone among the developers noted these problems and addressed them =
in any way? In some cases, they seem pretty serious, e.g. resulting in =
overlapping memory usage, limited program size, improper storage =
