Right. I can build and cross compile cleanly, so I'm ready to tag and build the release. Two big questions: * Are there any show stoppers people have seen in the last two days? * What version shall this be. * How about that web page? I recommend version 3.0, half because of organisational reasons (the group is completly different), half because of maturity (much better than 2.3.0), and half because of the large number of new targets. I edited the web page for content, style, and organisation. The intended version is at http://sdcc.sf.net/scratch/mlh/. Basically I tried to make it more readable and shifted things about to put the most important things first. Oh, and it's now stylesheet based so much easier to edit. If the page is good, and with Paul's blessing, then I'll change it over with the release. -- Michael |

I'm afraid there could be no replies, so I'll supply one: > * Are there any show stoppers people have seen in the last two days? No. > I recommend version 3.0, half because of organisational reasons (the > group is completly different), half because of maturity (much better > than 2.3.0), and half because of the large number of new targets. Good points. I didn't dare to increase to 3.0 and mentioned 2.4.0 some time ago. This is the version, which is already written in the docs. The docs are ready and online. We would have to rebuild the documentation, if we go for 3.0 now. This is the only small drawback, but in the end I don't care too much about the version. > I edited the web page for content, style, and organisation. The html is much nicer too! I'd say, do it. Let me know when it's replaced. I'll do some other long-planned stuff for the website shortly after the release is "official". Just one nit to pick on the version... rather than "3.0", please use "3.0.0", or even "3.00".... or 2.4.0. Paul |

Basically I My comments: Who is SDCC: - some contibutors are missing: I have Vangelis Rokas in mind, even if Bernhard excluded him from developers (BTW, is this still true?). SDCC has had help from a number of external sources, including - here it should be probably mentioned that sdcpp is derived from GCC cpp preprocessor... Borut |

I'm all done. The web page is in cvs under 'sdcc-web'. If you edit it and want to upload, try 'make'. -- Michael |

It was nice to see that there was much more contribution from the developers compared to the last release. Thanks to everybody. The cvs freeze is terminated. Happy coding! Bernhard P.S.: Yes, Vangelis is member again since few days. |
