Hi Sergio, I don't know if I'm the right one to answer your question, but I'll try. If i describe something you already know just skip that part. SDCC means 'Small Device C Compiler' where the 'Small Device' is a microcontroller, more exactly, as I understand, a 8 bit microcontroller of that types described on the homepage. A .exe File is a Microsoft-Windows executable File. Other operating systems use other 'singns' to show the os that a special file is a executable (the x attribute in unix-like operating systems). Microcontrollers _usually_ don't run a operating system. They only ru= n the programs they find in their memory (where you have to put it first). The don't care about filenames, extensions or attributes because the don't have a filesystem :-) So you get a file named not .exe but .ihex or someting else (I'm just starting with sdcc). That is a file which contains the 'binary code' of your Program as hexadecimal numbers. Your program you have installed on your computer that is used to download your self written program to the microcontroller takes that numbers and transfers them into the memory of the microcontroller which can make a sense out of that numbers. If you do not know what I'm talking about then you are maybe in the wrong place here. Maybe you want to compile programs for windows. Try gcc :-) There are even nice toolkits and ide's (I think) for gcc and Windows. The (seldom) times I have to program on windows I use SciTe as an IDE or xemacs ;-) If you think you are in the right place you maybe want to switch to sdcc-users because sdcc-devel is for the developpers of sdcc :-) greetings Carsten On Mon, 04 Nov 2002 16:13:13 +0000 Sergio Fontes <Ser...@is...> wrote: >=20 > I=B4m a software developer, and i=B4m leaving visual basic to learn = c/c++ > after installing sdcc compiler i'm having a problem to make an .exe > file. could you tell me anything or sent me documentation or link's= . >=20 > _________________________________________ > Sergio Fontes > ICQ#:174175881 >=20 > SMS: (Send an SMS message to my ICQ): +2783142174175881 > More ways to contact me: <http://wwp.icq.com/174175881> > _________________________________________ >=20 >=20 >=20 > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: ApacheCon, November 18-21 in > Las Vegas (supported by COMDEX), the only Apache event to be > fully supported by the ASF. http://www.apachecon.com > _______________________________________________ > sdcc-devel mailing list > sdc...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sdcc-devel --=20 Carsten Frank Institut fuer Kuestenforschung/Physikalische und Chemische Analytik GKSS-Forschungszentrum Geesthacht GmbH Max-Planck-Stra=DFe 21502 Geesthacht Germany Tel: ++49 (0)4152/87-2372 Fax: ++49 (0)4152/87-2366 |
