$ sdcc -v
bash: /usr/local/bin/sdcc: cannot execute binary file

that's what it tells me...

$ make
/usr/local/bin/sdcc -mpic16 -pp18f4331 -V --debug -c main.c
/usr/local/bin/sdcc: 1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected
make: *** [main.o] Error 2

that's what my makefile does when I tell it to use the snapshot version...
just my two cents

It works for me on AMD athlon 32bit FC6 Kernel 2.6.19-1.2895.fc6:

$ ./sdcc -v
SDCC : mcs51/gbz80/z80/avr/ds390/pic16/pic14/TININative/xa51/ds400/hc08
2.6.4 #4674 (Mar  9 2007) (UNIX)

Does it work if you compile it by yourself?

Anybody else tried it?
