I'm new to screem, so I'm testing bluefish and screem and deiciding.
Found some problems with screem:
I had to build and install from sources. RPM, build from SRPM didn't work.
I've got a message some files are missing.

hmm, what was the message?

when building fro src.rpm in spec file:
%configure --disable-gtkhtml-help --disable-schemas-install --disable-update-mime --disable-update-desktop --with-included-neon --with-libxml2 --enable-dbus --enable-gnomefe

and when installing with rpm -Uvh I'm getting :
WARNING: no <list_type> specified for schema of type list
WARNING: failed to install schema `/schemas/desktop/standard/recent-document-entry' locale `C': Schema specifies type list but doesn't specify the type of the list elements
WARNING: no <car_type> specified for schema of type pair
WARNING: no <cdr_type> specified for schema of type pair
WARNING: failed to install schema `/schemas/desktop/standard/save-location-entry' locale `C': Schema specifies type pair but doesn't specify the type of the car/cdr elements

well, now when I run screem as user it runs.
But:
why I can't do more tabs in the beginning? Only one.

I really miss to setup my colour hl color/style scheme.
Can't find even that file. syntax? Haven't got this file.

From tar.gz it was ok, but I can't change colours of syntax higlighting
and can't find file of this setup neither.
SQL and PHP files hl with thousands rows is very very slow.

There is no ui for changing the colours. Screem makes use of
gtksourceview though, so you can change the colours by editing the
highlighting files. GEdit has a ui for changing colours, but the
changes only effect GEdit. It wasn't working properly the last time I
looked at it so it hasn't been added to Screem at the moment.

Not sure if they highlighting is the problem, check the same files in
GEdit, if it isn't slow there then the problem is more likely to be
Screem trying to find the doctype or character set of the file. This is
much improved in my current codebase, but not in CVS yet.

If you use PHP extensively then Bluefish may be better for you to use
due to bugs such as
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=999493&group_id=142&atid=100142 in Screem, which can get annoying.

I'm writing the pure php code and html only templates, so have no prob with entities.
But I like to have smart editor. BF is good, but no ftp update etc. And seems to be faster.
I noticed very slow undo on plenty rows on sql script.

I can't login to cvs:
cvs [login aborted]: connect to
cvs.screem.sourceforge.net(66.35.250.209):2401 failed: Connection timed out

sourceforge anon cvs has connection problems from time to time.

Are there some nice things in cvs worth to use them? Stable enough?
And what is devel progress?

thanks
