This is, I think, shaping up to be a good month for SBCL. About
thirty minutes ago I got all the way through cold-init and to the "* "
prompt on PPC.
(Actually, this surprises me greatly because I'd completely butchered
the unix-select function a few months ago so it didn't stop
compilation, and was expecting to see the whole thing die as soon as
it printed "*". But it didn't, and I can successfully even evaluate
(* 2 3).)
I've started make-target-2; at this point I find out just how poor the
Linux 2.4 VM is on low-memory machines - 32Mb is not a lot of RAM to
run SBCL in anyway, but for some reason it's only letting me have 10.
So it might be a while before I find where it does actually blow up.
The good news is that the computer shop opens in about five hours
time, so maybe I can get some more ram then.
In other news, I'll be building 0.7.0 Alpha debian packages for cCLan
as soon as I wrap a few other things up, so if anyone else is actually
_using_ Alpha, look forward to those in the next day or so.
