I've done some edits to the SBCL web page today, and in addition to making the download table easier to read I also changed quite a lot of the source code of the generator to eliminate the dependency on S-XML. (CL-PPCRE is still required, but I think it's a reasonable dependency.) While I was doing this I noticed that there were some statements about the current state of cross-compiling SBCL and the current in-progress work that should probably be updated. In particular, I'd appreciate it if anyone who has more knowledge about which host compilers are expected to work and what ongoing ports are in progress could review the following pages, and reply with suggested updates: * http://www.sbcl.org/getting.html * http://www.sbcl.org/porting.html If anyone would like to make suggestions for the rest of the web site, I'd be happy to hear those too. Also, who is responsible for updating the manual? I've noticed that it often is updated between releases, but sometimes goes for more than a single release period without being updated. I'd be happy to update the manual at the same time of the rest of the web pages so that the web manual is in sync with the rest of the site. -- Brian Mastenbrook br...@ma... http://brian.mastenbrook.net/ |

The sparc and ppc ports should work on NetBSD, with amd64 as a port in progress. Robert Swindells |

I haven't been keeping close track of the status of the ports to other NetBSD platforms, so this is exactly the type of thing I wanted to find out. Can you build 1.0.22 for sparc and ppc and put the builds somewhere web-accessible so I can upload them to sourceforge? I'll also mark the amd64 port as "in progress". "Responsible" may be too strong a word, but I believe Andreas has been the one to handle it more often than not. I'm cool with synchronized updates. Cheers, -- Nikodemus |

I've updated it to 1.0.22 vintage. Should we be keeping old versions of the manual on the web site, or only the most recent version? -- Brian Mastenbrook br...@ma... http://brian.mastenbrook.net/ |

Linking old manuals is fine by me, but I don't see a huge need for that either. Cheers, -- Nikodemus |
