According to RFC 1945 (HTTP/1.0) the Request-URI only is allowed to
be absolute when the request goes to a proxy.
The absoluteURI form is only allowed when the request is being made
to a proxy. The proxy is requested to forward the request and return
the response. If the request is GET or HEAD and a prior response is
In function url-connection of contrib/asdf-install/installer.lisp
(sbcl 0.8.13.59) the request uses the full URL instead of only the
path of it.
That's OK with HTTP/1.1 servers if they are as tolerant to HTTP/1.0
requests as requested for HTTP/1.1 in RFC 2616.
But it could go wrong.
