I and some of my colleagues have found that the statistical profiler
crashes on Mac OS X. This is true of 1.0.12 and several versions
before that, and happens on both Tiger and Leopard. Sometimes it
manages to collect a small handful of samples, but on larger runs I
almost invariably get a crash. Here is a transcript from a fresh SBCL
* (require :sb-sprof)
* (sb-sprof:with-profiling (:max-samples 1000 :report :Flat :loop t)
(loop repeat 1000000 collect 10))
fatal error encountered in SBCL pid 46169:

Welcome to LDB, a low-level debugger for the Lisp runtime environment.
I'm very ignorant of SBCL internals but I'm happy to follow
instructions and run some commands at the ldb> prompt if it will help
find and fix the problem.
