ulimit -m unlimited
works (it's -m that you're interested in), the details are somewhat
system dependent, so not having SUSE around I'm hesistant to spell it
out but would rather direct you to Novell's documentation. See eg.
Note that you can also run SBCL with a smaller memory footprint. Try eg.
sh run-sbcl.sh --dynamic-space-size 1024
