For a batteries-included SBCL, why not have 1- a non-SBCL-specific library distribution mechanism, e.g. desire - or even Nix 2- as part of said non-SBCL-specific mechanism, a way to tag together a set of of versions of a subset of the above libraries 3- a non-SBCL-specific co-release of sets of such CL software, e.g. LibCL 4- as part of the SBCL release cycle, build big tarballs of the latest combo of SBCL and libraries that pass all the required tests. By factoring it this way, we may both minimize the pains for SBCL implementers and make things usable for CLers at large.
