Nikodemus pointed out to me, and I discovered independently, that the symptoms were caused by having stale build tools from an x86 build--in particular, grovel-headers was built for x86, rather than x86-64. The semi-obvious place where this really showed up is in FILE-WRITE-DATE (once my build somehow stumbled into building contribs)--every file had a FILE-WRITE-DATE of the epoch. So, ./clean and rebuild, and everything is OK again. -Nathan |
