In case the systems are the same, the SBCL binaries are also the same. So, you should do the build only once.

I have several systems and want to install sbcl on 'all' of them. It
are all x86 systems with openSUSE 11.3. I can build sbcl on one system
and install it on all the others. But would things be optimised when I
build it on the individual systems?
