No, it hasn't become a standard function in 2.0. A decision was made not
to include this feature. It's difficult for me to explain the reasons
since I argued for putting it in, but the objections were basically from
people who want to do compilers rather than interpreters. There was also
a feeling that it would be very difficult to specify the semantics
formally (especially, defining the static and dynamic context for the
expression, and the typing rules).
