Well, there's "getting started" information at

http://www.saxonica.com/documentation/index/gettingstarted/gettingstartedjava.html

The version you want is (highlighted on the SourceForge page) is Saxon-B 9.1.0.7.

If it doesn't work for you, then please tell us exactly what you did, and exactly what error messages you got, and we can then explain what you did wrong. It's probably something very simple, but unless you tell us what happened, we can't help you.

That goes for any problems you hit later as well: if you need help diagnosing a problem, we need to know what went on between you and the computer.

The mention of "saxon.exe" suggests you might have been trying the old "instant Saxon" version. That was produced years ago in the days when Microsoft shipped their own Java VM. It's still there, because once you release something on SourceForge it stays there for ever, but it's only of archaeological interest these days.

Subject: [saxon] Help getting started with Saxon

I'm trying to download Saxon so I can use xslt to transform xml into html. I downloaded a bunch of different versions of saxon, but haven't been able to get any of them working. Can someone point me to a simple tutorial to using saxon in java, or to a version of saxon.exe that works on Windows Vista with Java 1.6 installed?
