If the regex attribute of xsl:analyze-string is anything other than a simple string value (specifically, if it includes curly braces, including even doubled curly braces) then the regular expression is compiled at run-time on each execution rather than being compiled at compile time, even if its value is found during expression optimization to be a compile-time constant.

A patch will be placed in Subversion.
