Here is the upgrade of grub2 to reach version 2.0. I need it for Live version.
This is based on the old (not-maintained) packages of Shador and also using some hints of Arch package.
This package contains a new grub2 module : gettextvar which do the same as gettext but put the translation in a variable rather than printing it.

  • Is it possible to build it with ZFS support ?

    GRUB2 will be compiled with following components:
    With libzfs support: No (need zfs library)

    In this way users will not be limited.
    Because I think that more and more users will want to try/use FreeBSD/PCBSD which use ZFS.

    ++

    • Well yes it's possible. Last time shador did it, it find that it makes slow disk detection, but that was 1.98 or 1.99, so we can try again to include zfs in it. I'll recompile it in a day or two.
      If you have ZFS partition (like I think you have), could you test it then?
