thanks for the quick answer. However, the contour lines are not exactly what I am looking for. I want to have gridlines over my map, so the distance between two points is easily identifiable. Like this one: http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/Images/mptick_5_lg.png
I tried to do it with the contour lines, but did not figure out a way to create this. Can you explain, how you would do it? Thank you!
