    Hello everyone,

I have just started using SGA GIS. I downloaded the most recent version of
SAGA (saga_2.0.7_bin_msw_win32). I am using windows vista 64 bit computer. But
I think I am having problem operating SAGA. My import raster function is
taking more than a hour, which I think is not right.

Is there a 64 bit compaitble version of SAGA GIS? I am sorry if I am being
    ignorant.

  • Which format do you like to import, how big is your file and which module
    (parameters) do you use?

Thanks everyone for the prompt response.

My DEM is 1.5 GB. I saved them to the SAGA grid format. I downloaded the 64
bit SAGA version. But it takes hell of a time to upload my grid. The computer
has 8 GB RAM. But the O/S is still vista. Do you think it might be a vista
    issue?

I am trying to us Terrain analysis module to calculate wetness index.

    Thanks.

  • I'm not aware of any vista problems. The time to load the grid is really high.
Maybe you like to try a snapshot from trunk - the memory allocation for grids
was changed since 2.0.6 in order to fix some issues under GNU/Linux. Maybe it
helps in your case too. The snapshot is available here:
