One more thing - you should definitely use kolijoco's last release based on v0.72 (dosbox_s60_20090623.zip).
It's MUCH more stable than the 0.73 tree (especially dynamic core), therefore considerably faster, and mouse input works much, much better.

- removed the onscreen keypad because it's pretty useless
- added new keyboard layouts - a full qwerty keyboard (360x120) at the top & bottom of the screen
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
- rearranged keyboard layout in maps 3 and 4, fixed some bugs
- added shortcut to map 5: bottom left corner (30x30px) will take you back to map 4
I think this works pretty well by now. Next thing will be to figure out some way to implement and functionality (saving is impossible in Ultima 6 - crap, apart from that, it works really well…).
Cheers!

Another update. There are quite a lot of changes, although originally I just wanted to map to the answer key so that I could save my game in Ultima VI. Oh well, while I was at it…
- clicking ">>" in map 4 now activates map 5 instead of map 0
- added backslash ("\") to maps 3 and 4
- removed PgUp and PgDn from map 2 as they can crash DOSBox (those keys are hardly ever used anyway. if you still need them, switch to map 5). Added and to map 2 instead (for useful commands like "cd\" and "dir *")
- mapped functionality to answer key (green) as this is Often needed for saving/quitting (e.g. Ultima VI). Works alright, although the voice command screen keeps popping up.
- added two alternative bindings (deactivated by #): Answer key = Alt / Answer key = Shift (replace # according to the mapping you want to apply)
- fixed a minor graphical glitch in map 4
- Removed two unnecessary bindings in map 5
I see from my MediaFire counter that people keep downloading this stuff, so thank you all for your appreciation!

thx for this amazing virtual keyboard.
Finally it made dosbox usable on my 5800.
In addition, the "mouse" sensitivity in your provided cfg file works very well, the mouse is really there where I am pointing to (in the past, I've had problems with that).
One minor question:
is there any way to emulate somehow (in this virtual keyboard or via the camera button or anyhow) the right mouse button click by this mapper tool or this thing is not capable to do that?
e.g. Eye of The Beholder runs smoothly and seems playable, but I can't do anything without a right mouse click :(
Maybe the solution is already present just I can't find it :]
And again: this keypad is amazing.
Cheers,
Sandor

I'm still trying to figure it out somehow. The green/white/red buttons can be mapped, but they either bring up the dial pad, the main menu, or close DOSBox, so they're no use. Remapping the volume keys (which, I believe, can't be mapped in DOSBox) might solve the problem.
I've tried Magickey, but it doesn't work on the 5800. Virtual Key is another option, but I haven't had any success so far. I'll post here if I find a solution.
Cheers,

- Added VirtualKey to the download package (see included VirtualKey Readme for details)
- Mapped right mouse button to the left and right hard keys in map 0
@Sandor: Eye of the Beholder is now fully playable ;)
- Mapped / to left / right hard keys in maps 1-4 (for saving/quitting in games like e.g. Ultima 6)

After playing with VirtualKey settings a bit, I made some additional changes and improved the mappings a little further. While I was at it, I revamped the overlay graphics a bit so they look nicer.
Oh Thanks for this awesome work!
Now after some trouble making the virtkeyb working on my 5530 I can use it without problems… If you set cycles to auto it works without problems, instead if you set it to max dosbox closes when you try to open the keyboard…
A think I don't like is that this keyboard works only with s60scale=swfull, not s60scale=glfull which would be better…
But you are however an awesome programmer!

Hi guys,
I've created a quite extensive virtual keyboard for my Nokia 5800. Feel free to try it out.

A quick update:
http://www.mediafire.com/?z2hjwzm3aoz
- removed PgUp and PgDn from the fifth map and shrinked the switch button to 30x30
- added two new colours (grey and green)

- removed the onscreen keypad because it's pretty useless
- added new keyboard layouts - a full qwerty keyboard (360x120) at the top & bottom of the screen
this works really well! I love the fullscreen transparent keyboard! Thanks for your efforts!

All right, here we go…
After some meddling with VirtualKey, I finally found a convenient solution. Get the updated package here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?fnq5mghouzm
Changes in this release are minor, but effective:
- Added VirtualKey to the download package (see included VirtualKey Readme for details)
- Mapped right mouse button to the left and right hard keys in map 0
@Sandor: Eye of the Beholder is now fully playable ;)
- Mapped / to left / right hard keys in maps 1-4 (for saving/quitting in games like e.g. Ultima 6)
Wow, it was fast ;]
It's perfect, works like a charm, EOB is fully playable ;]
Mega thanks :]
Cheers,
Sandor
And another one…

thanks :-) works a treat on my Satio
You're welcome :-)
It was real fun building this, actually. Good to see other people like it as well!
