    hello everybody!

I'm running debian "lenny" ( = etch not completely updated) and using the default rtl8187 module in  2.6.26-2-686 kernel for a (damn) wg111v2 0846:6a00

with network manager i have few problem: the applet correctly shows my home access point network and correctly connects to it (in this case, the driver ROCKS!)

the first problem is the wrong answer by iwlist (almost every time)
    # iwlist wlan0 scanning
    wlan0     No scan results

the second problem is that i cannot create an ad-hoc net.
    here (maybe not updated) http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers
it says this driver cannot use the chip in master/ad-hoc/mesh modes; is this right?

Stopping NetworkManager and acting "manually" I get
    mazinga:/home/bruno# iwconfig wlan0 mode Ad-hoc
    mazinga:/home/bruno# ifconfig wlan0 up
    SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not supported
I success in upping the interface only setting
    #iwconfig wlan0 mode Managed

i think the worse issue is the first, about iwlist

what am i doing wrong? thank you!
