I think it is very useful to open a utf-8 file without a bom automatically.
I always add a editor's shortcut to my right mouse content menu, and open a file by right click it, and select the shortcut in the menu, or directly drag a file to the editor to open it, It is a fast way. I found RText can not open a file which encoding is utf-8 without BOM correctly.
I have used many editors before, most of them can recognizing a UTF-8 file without a BOM correctly. RText is great, if this feature can add to RText, it will be more perfect!

Discussion

  • This is a test file, encoding is utf-8 no BOM, two lines in it, first line is english, second line is chinese.
