I've searched on the forum and can't yet find an answer to this.
In cleanup, I have checked maximum number of news to keep (set at 200) and
maximum age as 7 days. Also have checked all other options. However, after
reading all of the news items in a particular feed, I am constantly getting
old items that are marked as new - whether they be from many days ago to today
(e.g., earlier this morning).
I have to do cleanup as my database has gotten to almost 1 GB sometimes (and
with the 2 backup files, that amounts to 3 GB just for RssOwl alone).
Shouldn't there be a way to cleanup the database to remove read articles and
not have them come back? It's probably something easy that I just don't have
setup correctly, but I just cannot figure this out. It is so frustrating to
read 500 news items and then, when I go back to that feed the next day, to
have many show up again.
Thanks in advance for your help.
And these news from the past are not starred or labeled? Clean Up will not
delete those. Also, consider to run clean up with the recommended options all
No, they are not starred or labeled. I've also increased the maximum number of
news to keep, both in the global settings (to 4500) and in 1 feed (to 1500)
and I am still seeing the problem. For example, news that I've already looked
at this morning is reappearing. In fact, some news items reappeared multiple
times after re-reading them.
I did also run cleanup. Still same problem. I have no idea what's going on.
Can you explain what exactly you mean with news that reappear? Are you saying
that you think clean up is deleting them and then they show up as new again?
Does this happen with every feed or only specific? You can send me the error
log (export from help menu).
