I would like a utility which trawls through my system's Gnome and/or
KDE menus and creates Rox wrappers for all the applications it finds,
There are so many packages I've never tried out, mainly because I
never "see" them in a Rox environment. From time to time I find myself
starting a Gnome or KDE session just to remind myself what software is
available for me to play with.
And to repeat what others have said, I would like ROX-Session to give
me "shutdown" and "reboot into Windows" options, and to turn on my
Num-Lock key automatically on startup. :-)

Another possibility is to make a little script to execute .desktop files,
then you can look through those directories to see what you've got
installed and click on them to run them.
I did suggest giving each app its own directory with a .desktop file so
we could use the existing ROX system, but they've opted to use
/usr/share/apps/<appdir>/* for all data EXCEPT the .desktop file, and
/usr/share/applications/*.desktop for the .desktop files. Oh well :-(
