As a very recent ship-jumper from Risc-OS to Ubuntu + ROX, I can but
agree with Thomas (well, except I'd like ROX to be optionaly
configurable to behave exactly like Risc-OS, but I understand why that's
not necesserily desireable for everyone else!).
It's sad to see the remains of the Risc-OS comminity immediately start,
in response to the article, to re-live past glories rather than look to
a future though. The very sad day will soon be here, when I get
LedgerSMB running for real, when I will ring down "Engines Finished
With" for the last time (like the Captain of a retiring ship) and switch
off my trusty 12 year old Risc-PC one last time. It's only been shut
down for physical re-location, a mother board repair after a mouse
(furry variety) got in a peed all over IC's, and hardware additions in
all that time - it still has it's original hard drive - despite living
in a workshop environment for the last 7 years (the computer, not me).
At least I've avoided Windows, though it was a close shave!
