No, I mean : just like in konqueror or mc, for instance, you have on the left all the hierarchy (from / to your "/home/me/deep_end_sub-directory), and of course, because you don't have the right to see/write/exec some, you just can't r/w/x them ! It allows to access the /mnt/cdrom point in fewer clicks than in opening /home/me, go to parent dir twice and then go down to /mnt/cdrom ! Of course you can setup un icon on the desktop to point directly to /mnt/cdrom, but I don't like to have dozen's of icon for the same job...
