I have just checked in two major feature enhancements to Memo svn: 1) Early Notification In the main app Options you can set an option: Remind about events <x> minutes early This will send a 'normal' urgency notification to the notification-daemon x minutes before the 'critical' notification. The default value is "0", which will not send any early notifications. I haven't really tested this with the older dialog popup, but I think it should pop up early notifications exactly the same as regular notifications. 2) Sounds You can select a default Memo sound and a default Timer sound in the main app Options, and you can override this Memo sound per-memo in the new "Advanced Options" area in the edit box. Note: These sounds are not actually played by Memo, but just passed along to the notification-daemon via the 'sound-file' hint. The latest released (0.3.6) and subversion (as of Jan 25, 2007) of notification-daemon do not yet actually play these sounds, but there is a patch pending[1] against the svn version which uses gstreamer to play sound-file hints.
