However, a numeric sort may be interesting. But this isn't correct either. For instance, rox gives: 01 1-1 1-2 002 02 10-1 11-1 12-1 whatever the locales are. On this machine, both ls and ls|sort give: 002 01 02 1-1 1-2 10-1 11-1 12-1 with LC_COLLATE=C (or POSIX).
