No

Versions:
Rox Filer -2.10
GTK2 - 2.18.5
glib2 - 2.22.3
xorg server - 1.7.3.902
Using Arch Linux - latest update.

To reproduce problem:
1. Right click on any item and select, for example 'properties'
2. Right click on a different item and select properties

Problem:
On the second right click, the 2nd item is not selected and the properites are shown for the first clicked item, which remains selected. The only way to view properites for another item is to click somewhere in the background to deselct the previous selection, then right click the required option. Although not serious, this can lead to problems if your not paying attention!

This has happened recently, and is not specific to rox-filer 2.10 - I tried 2.8 and that was also affected. It seems to be related to the version of GTK2 - an older system I have running slackware 12.2 does not behave this way - right clicking on any item selects that item. That system uses the following versions: xorg 1.4, python 2.5, 2, gtk 2.12.12, glib2 2.16.6. Unfortunately I don't know exactly when this happened, it was when I updated the system a few months ago...

I should mention that I'm using single click navigation, although the same thing happens on double click navigation too. Also, I am using 64 bit system, but I checked in 32 bit and the problem persists.

Cheers,

Rod.

This is the intended behaviour (to avoid accidentally selecting something else when using the menu).

OK, but that doesn't explain why the same version of ROX produces different results depending on GTK2 version.

    Thanks for your quick response,

    Rod.

Actually, I think this is the same as the previous bug: Files remain "selected" - ID: 2889906. If it is intentional, you should close that one too. It's just a bit unconventional, although I can see what your saying - it makes it hard to select another file by accident when using the menu. I prefered the old syle, where you right click, then right click again to de-select (i.e. unshade) the file. I'm sure I'll get used to the new method though!

OK, this is a bug. If the item was selected automatically when the menu opened, it should unselect when it closes.
