I agree. What really shows up on the subject-line should be configurable for each tracker instance. In fact i think that should be *completly* configurable. But currently roundup needs the subject line's contents to operate correctly. Now wouldn't it be possible to eliminate this dependency? I think that relying on the Reply-To-Header (and maybe From-line) could help to implement ortoghonality. Roundup would generate a unique id and issue reply-to-headers (and maybe also From-headers) like this: nam...@so...main When roundup would receive a mail with such an address mail it could determine the context *exactly*: no guess work. This doesn't mean that the subject line couldn't mention a trackers name or an issue number. But the content of the subject line would then be ortoghonal to routing/context information. I think this separation would make roundup a lot more flexible. I am willing to help implement such a design because i am working on a similar project with many identical goals, anyway. And i might as well try to help/join the roundup crew. It's already a great project. regards, holger |
