Hello All, Concerning: > > https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/rosegarden4-10.04-1.fc12 > > I cannot reproduce the crash. The user says this crash > didn't happen > > in 10.02. Anyone having the same issue? What was > changed since, in > > that part of the code? > > I don't think anything changed in that part of the > code. Julie would probably > know for sure. >From what I gather this crash is related MMC when the transport is set as master. * Edit->Preferences... * MIDI->Sync MIDI * MIDI Machine Control mode = MMC Master Having this set produces lines in the terminal that say: Jump using MMC LOCATE to .... Which is part of the code that sends an MMC to the output of the alsa driver. So what does this mean? Well, first ... nothing has changed in this respect. I did not alter that code. Second, after testing both files listed in the report, I could not reproduce the crash. I tried pretty hard. ... I also reviewed my changes to the System Exclusive messages and did not see any impact. We do not honor incoming MMC Locate command. We test for MMC if we have a system exclusive event, but for the locate command this test fails (we only honor play, and stop). So the Locate MMC is treated just like any other system exclusive message and is either recorded, passed along, etc. ... So either direction, as a slave or as master, I'm not currently able to produce crashes related to MMC locate commands. ... So without more information to go on, I can't reproduce or resolve this issue. Sincerely, Julie S. |
