I use Rosegarden, qsynth, qjackctrl under fc3-ccrma to play piano.
Is there a method / filter / plugin to set the
"velocity-loudness-characteristik" of a MIDI-Keyboard ?
Sound tends to go into distortion while playing fortissimo on the
MIDI-Keyboard, even if qsynth-gain is reduced to 50 or below.
RGs Event-Listeditor seems to be good to manipulate
MIDI-Records but not to process a MIDI-Eventstream.
Probably I would have to use another synthesizer, no ?
Thanks for your hint

Did you try lowering the volume for the channel? Velocity should be=20
interpreted as some percentage of volume, so if you have maximum velocity a=
half volume, you should get half volume. If that isn't working, QSynth is=

I've run into this too, with several good, big piano soundfonts. It seems =
be a characteristic of the soundfonts. They have a completely different=20
response curve from other, more generic soundfonts I have.
I can't recall the specifics of what, if anything, I did about it. I hate =
piano anyway, so I probably just didn't use it, and used Aeolus or somethin=
