Hmm, not entirely. Depends just how bad the badness is.
It's reasonable to suppose that badness based on the timer resolution won't
show up if the notes are spaced at even multiples of that timer resolution.
The trace you posted from the complainer program supports that: your reported
figures were extremely good, which is as it should be because it shouldn't
make any difference at that tempo whether the timer is 1000 or 250Hz. It
does look like the SuSE kernel is still basically a low-latency one.
What would be very helpful would be to hear what you get when playing e.g.
bogus-surf-jam, if you can record the wonky output to an audio file somehow
(which would depend on what you're playing it through).

- liblrdf.so.2 and
I have a AMD64 and I hope it works.
