I'm new to the list and still relatively new to Rosegarden, so be gentle :)
I've installed Rosegarden and am using it with qsynth as soft synthesizer.
I've set up the metronome to send a midi message to qsynth, which it does -
at velocity 127 on the first beat and 100 on the others. For some reason
however, the metronome stopped giving
click sounds while recording MIDI on any track.
During playback the clicks are coming through fine. During playback the
transport panel displays C1 127 and C1 100 as outgoing events, but while
recording the panel shows only the incoming keys are sent the output. I have
been fiddling around to improve latency, but can't think of anything I could
have done that might have destroyed the metronome. The manual doesn't
mention any distinction between metronome behaviour on recording vs.
playback, or have I overlooked something?
Any comment that sheds light on the issue would be greatly appreciated!

The only thing that comes immediately to mind is to point out that there are
two metronomes, and toggling one does not toggle the other. Did you make
sure to hit the metronome button after hitting record? That will toggle the
"recording metronome" on until you turn it off, and it has no effect on
whether the metronome sounds during playback.
If that isn't the problem, there have been some weird long-standing metronome
issues. I have some vague, badly-worded bug to this effect that I don't
think has ever been properly fixed. "No metronome until manage metronome" I
think. The trick is to go to the metronome manager flummy and jiggle it into
working again by changing it in some way and then putting it back like it
