This POS box has an Ensoniq Audio PCI/ens1370 which is a similar animal to the
SB PCI 128/ens1371 in my old machine.
I'm trying to record some audio. I've tried every recorder thingie I can
think of, and nothing ever records so much as a peep.
Looking at the kmixapplet thingie on my kicker, none of the channels have a
checkable context menu item so I can set that channel as the recording
source. Looking at the full mixer with kmix, I get a row of green dot radio
buttons across the top for turning channel output on and off. I seem to
recall with my old soundcard, there was also a row of red dots across the
bottom, for setting the record source.
Is it actually possible that this soundcard is such a POS that I simply can't
record audio at all? That seems inconceivable.
I guess I'll swap soundcards, if I can figure out what I did with the old one.
I'm just baffled by all of this.
Can anyone confirm that my memory about setting the record source with the
context menu or the red buttons is still the current practice?
