Well I've been thinking about how note pasting could work and the need to have some sort of cursor or insertion point, and really I can't find a good solution for this. Problem : none of the actions we provide so far have an insertion point. We insert and delete notes by clicking on them, we select notes for cut/copy by stretching a rectangle around them. So if, once you've a set of notes in your clipboard for pasting, you need to specify where to paste them and then paste them, it means you'll have to - switch to "cursor mode" - move that cursor to where you want to paste the notes - click on "paste" which I think is quite cumbersome, even if somewhat closer to the way pasting works in other applications than what we currently have. I've tried to guess how pasting works on Logic but gave up. I simply couldn't make any sense of it, there are like 4 or 5 different selection tools, and I couldn't guess what was the difference between them. It doesn't seem to feature any sort of cursor though, but pasting happens right when the "paste" menu item is selected, not after clicking where you want to paste. It seem to be wanting to paste on the first bar, though. Rich, have you ever tried this feature ? -- Guillaume. http://www.telegraph-road.org |
