I've removed those asserts, branch should compile with --enable-debug now. Michael - I'm in full agreement with you about the evils of middle clicking, I'm hoping to find some other way of firing off the quick-link. The only reason it's like that at the moment is that when I was ferreting around quick copy code I saw that the middle click was already being detected (and treated like a left click) so I hung it off that. KDE's inconvenienced us on the alt key by having it as the default key for doing quick window move and resize ops. We could use the alt key, but we'd have to advise KDE users to alter their settings to use meta instead of alt for window ops. Personally, I'd like to use the alt key.
