Hi All, First I just want to say thanks to all the Rosegarden developers for a *fantastic* application. It really is great. I am a relative newbie to sound production but I am enjoying getting to grips with the Rosegarden. My question is this: How do I mix the sound from external software synths (Hydrogen, Zyn, etc) into the final audio track? I have come up with three clumsy solutions of my own, none of which I am happy with: 1) first record the external synths on audio tracks, then record the master track in a second pass (time wasting!). 2) Take Rosegarden's master or submaster out and loop it back to an input channel, connect all the external sources to that same input and record from that input, praying you get the levels right in each external app (eek!). 3) Take Rg's master or sub-master out to an external mixer program, then take the mix back into RG to record, or on to yet another program to record (e.g. audacity) (oh no, more apps to start manually! And don't even mention LASH please!). This of course could all apply to other external sources too (vocals, etc). So how do I avoid this? I wondered if there was an audio plug-in I could add to the master track that would allow me to mix in an external source, but nothing seemed to offer that functionality. Am I missing something obvious? It seems strange you can record an input singly or play a recorded audio input into the mix, but not take an input straight into the mix... Many Thanks Stephen Parry |
