Recruiting a real guitarist would be better, if possible, but if you're in need, and determined... * Don't forget that guitars usually strum up too. If all your notes are offset the same way, it sounds even more fake. * Strumming implies chords, and if you're doing something that should be humanly playable, each string is probably going to ring out for some time until strummed again. You can play with sustain in order to mimic this, or if notation isn't important (and it probably shouldn't be if you're already futzing about with these small rests and intentionally stepped out chords,) you can draw the notes out extra long. Especially the bass notes. * Don't forget to play with velocity. Some notes usually take more of an accent naturally, and the accent can be varied intentionally to produce various effects. If you want to fake a guitar, you need to mimic this kind of thing by tweaking velocity in subtle ways. * Rosegarden doesn't have a "humanizer" function to try to fake this for you automagically, but the good news is all the commercial ones I played with used to do a horrible job anyway, and there's no substitute for spending seven eternities endlessly diddling everything, in order to produce the least lame results possible (which are still, sadly, quite lame.) -- D.
