I meant: Suggested solution: segment colours should be mixed additively in areas of overlap; this means the areas of n-way overlap are drawn in a unique colour for each value of n. This would solve the main problem of not being able to see where a segment begins and ends in amongst a set of overlapped segments. There is another less important visibility issue which it would not solve; if you have n overlapped segments which all end together at the end of bar b and another n overlapped segments which all start together at the start of bar b+1, then the same colour will be used for the two neighbouring areas of overlap because they are both n-way overlaps. I think the best way to solve this would be to allow the user to set each segment colour independently of the colours of any other segments, i.e. this would be different from setting the default segment colour in the configuration dialog which sets a global colour for all segments. > Second suggestion solution: allow the user to set the hue (e.g. hue angle on > HSV colour wheel) of each segment independently of the hue of other segments.
