Upon noticing that I rather like the sound of my fingers tapping on whatever random objects they find, I decided maybe I should make my own soundfont. After an hour and a half, I came to the conclusion that they really aren't kidding when they say that whatever it's called is a work in progress. They're doesn't appear to actually be a way to do anything useful with it at all. It seems you can look at the structure of a soundfont, but as for actually creating one, it took me a while to figure out how to create the structures for a simple rhythm pattern, and then I think I gave up upon tring to figure out how to import a sample as I believe that didn't work. I then went after the official soundfont documentation, figuring I could just toss together some Perl scripts to create what I want, but that documentation is terribly incomprehensible. |
