I've never finished a complete analysis of the Cakewalk file format, but I think that my program went a bit beyond the point of the old one you used as a reference. It parses version 3 files too, and identifies some more chunk types, with Track, Vars and Timebase chunks decoded in readable format, and several levels of vebosity.
